Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: September 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BarnBuddy collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit the website, create an account, make or manage a profile, search for providers, submit an inquiry, send a message, request a booking, make a payment, leave a review, or use another BarnBuddy feature.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use information

We use information to operate and secure BarnBuddy; authenticate users; create and display profiles; match owners and providers; enable inquiries, messages, bookings, reviews, alerts, and payments; verify providers; send service and account communications; prevent fraud and misuse; maintain legal records; troubleshoot and improve the service; and comply with legal obligations.

3. When information is shared

Information may be shared with owners or providers as needed to operate profiles, matching, messaging, and bookings; with vendors that process information for BarnBuddy; when required by law or necessary to protect users, animals, property, BarnBuddy, or others; and as part of a business transfer. BarnBuddy does not currently use third-party advertising pixels and does not sell personal information for targeted advertising.

Current service providers include Supabase for authentication, databases, storage, and server functions; Resend and Supabase authentication email for email delivery; OneSignal for web push notifications; Stripe for payments and connected-provider payouts; GoDaddy infrastructure for domain, DNS, and website hosting; OpenStreetMap and Leaflet for maps; and Zippopotam.us for ZIP-code location lookup. Software files may also be delivered through jsDelivr, unpkg, and esm.sh.

4. Public and private information

Public profile information may be visible to website visitors. Messages, nonpublic booking details, account credentials, and private verification records are intended only for authorized users, BarnBuddy administrators, and service providers that need the information to operate the platform. Do not place sensitive information in a public-profile field.

5. Cookies, local storage, and similar technology

BarnBuddy uses browser storage, authentication tokens, service workers, and notification identifiers to keep users signed in, remember settings, improve loading, support installed-app behavior, and operate notifications. BarnBuddy also records first-party engagement events in its own Supabase database. BarnBuddy does not currently include Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or another third-party advertising tracker.

6. Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, complete transactions, maintain required legal or consent records, resolve disputes, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. BarnBuddy uses access controls and private storage for sensitive verification documents, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices

You may update profile information and notification settings through the website where available. Email and availability-alert messages may contain unsubscribe or cancellation controls. You may request access, correction, or deletion of applicable personal information by contacting BarnBuddy. Some records may be retained where required for security, legal, payment, fraud-prevention, or recordkeeping purposes.

8. Children

BarnBuddy is not directed to children under 13, and BarnBuddy does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact BarnBuddy if you believe a child has submitted personal information.

9. Changes to this policy

BarnBuddy may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or account communications.

10. Contact

Privacy questions or requests may be submitted through the BarnBuddy support page or sent to hello@yourbarnbuddy.com.
